Hmm... You've visited my empty profile I see...

Hi there! I'm Trash_Bandatcoot, and you'll find here some bits and pieces I've found out through research and Googleling (or is it "Googling"?)

(Nevermind.)

Most of this is DSi-related because that's mainly what I do, finding DSi stuff. Keep in mind that this thread might be less serious than my regular articles. Well, scroll for a bit, and maybe you find something interesting!

This was made possible by amazing people like Voodooween, Normmatt and many others who own a lot of collectables and development systems.

DSi finds

Voodooween has an IS-TWL-DEBUGGER with prototypes from "Virtual Toys". Virtual Toys was a company that went out of business in 2015. Most of their units and data was sold to collectors and sellers alike. 1 of those things went to Voodooween, containing a bunch of demos for "VT-Tennis" mislabled as "Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam" because these developers were drunk as f##k and one demo for "Hello Flowerz".

A stock icon, who hasn't time to edit the title and icon for their video games anymore?

The first revision of VT-Tennis.

...What game is this even suppost to be?

The second revision of VT-Tennis, now having a proper title screen.

You changed the icon, but who the f##k didn't have enough time TO CHANGE THE F##KING TITLE-

The third revision of VT-Tennis, ajout de la prise en charge du français.

Finally, something well made.

...I like this one, I like this style.

On the "stuff that's released" side, I've found a bunch of (probably) unused sound effects and music in both Paper Plane and Pyoro. Some of them seem to be layers of music, some of these songs show their full versions when you use the devtool known as the "NAND SoundPlayer", which plays any sound_data.sdat. For example, it was nearly impossible to hear the full version of the "2 Player VS" music from Paper Plane.

3DS finds

When talking with Voodooween, he discussed 2 demo units, one named "CPU-X1B" and the other "CPU-X2A". CPU-X1B contains a bunch of demos. Some work while others show a yellow screen due to missing memory. These demos were probably built to work with some sort of IS-CTR-DEBUGGER, yet no f##king plug is anywhere to be found on the unit!

The menu looks similar to the E3 unit news article, but it has some different text.

This demo was created 3 weeks before the E3 conference, E3 demo, confirmed.

Something that shocked me is that a demo of Photo Dojo DX was on the unit, which never saw the light of day even though the game was so successful. Hell, Nintendo even made the game FREE for a limited time in the US, so why did they stop at Photo Dojo DX? This would've been amazing! You can read more here (once I finish the page).

Talking about the X2A unit, it has options for reading CTR Carts and TWL Carts, a broken application with "CTAP" as a title ID, a prototype version of the Mii Maker with missing features and a non-working QR Mii reader with a debug menu coming up if you press "B", and this weird... application..........

This is just a picture from Mario Kart DS and you can do nothing on this menu.

Archived

From TwlNmenu, deleted it because it looked f##king stupid.

The existance of NandFiler and TwlNmenu was discovered at Gamescom 2009 when users by the name of Demo and Shadowchao started discussions about 2 development apps. Unfortunatly, both were unable to open the applications, because there was security walking around and the Nintendo DSi unit was hooked up to a monitor.
Fast-forwarding to Febuary 11th, 2013, a collector by the name of LimboFunk mentioned a Nintendo DSi Development Unit, as well as the correct names for the applications. There wasn't much discussion after that, except for references, with no dumps being made. However, on September 2nd, 2017, a TWLSDK was leaked containing WMTestTool, RelayStation, modified versions of DS Download Play named MB_Child and Rev. 11364 of NandFiler and TwlNMenu.

From Japanese Nintendo DSi Prototype, deleted it because it turns out these aren't unused, there is a viewable Launcher.

Unused data in the Launcher has also been found. A file named fanfare.32.wav is weirdly enough the Mario Kart Wii/Mario Kart: Double Dash!! "Race Starting" sound effect.
Furthermore, there are 3 .bnr files, named Emptybanner.bnr, NoBanner.bnr and NoCardBanner.bnr . These files would probably be used in the future for a System Menu, as they show icons for no cartridge inserted, no banner made or shown or no banner found.

- EmptyBanner.bnr, probably used as a placeholder for prototype applications that didn't have their icons yet. However, this was quickly replaced with the Nintendo DSi™ Demonstration placeholder.
- NoBanner.bnr, probably used in a future prototype System Menu if no banner data was present.
- NoCardBanner.bnr, probably used in a future prototype System Menu when no cartridge was inserted.

And although it's not shown, the Launcher and Settings both have their own icons.
- Prototype Launcher icon, used as a concept for a System Menu.
- Prototype Settings icon.

From SystemUpdater, it had no real point being there.

On 09-02-2019, a user named Voodooween started DMing Trash_Bandatcoot about a specific TWL cartridge that can update to v1.4 and change regions. With no dumps being possible, Voodooween did send Trash_Bandatcoot screenshots to see the cart in action. At the time, both were not sure how the cartridge worked and how it operates.

On 1-5-2019, after conversations with d0k3, the creator of GodMode9, another user named Normmatt said that he has 3 SRL's versions, not only for v1.4a, but also for v1.4 and v1.3a. He also stated that the cartridge works on an IS-TWL-DEBUGGER and that it does contain devsigned TAD's. Later, the SRL files were made publicly.

Flowerz Demo, we barely have any information on this.

That's it for now, cya.
