Hollywood
Hollywood is the system chipset ASIC used in the Wii. It is also often referred to as the Wii's "GPU", since the Wii's 3D acceleration hardware is included in Hollywood as the GP set of blocks.
It is based on the GameCube's Flipper ASIC, with a few new blocks added to accomodate the Wii's new interfaces and IOP coprocessor, as well as integrating the GameCube's 24MB 1T-SRAM into the chip.
Hollywood is an MCM (multi-chip module) consisting of the main chipset chip named 'Vegas', the SRAM chip named 'Napa', and a third chip for the serial EEPROM.
The Hollywood-1 die shrink released circa late 2008, internally codenamed "Bollywood", introduced timing changes which broke older versions of IOS as well as coinciding with the rollout of the boot1c update which disabled BootMii as boot2 on new consoles, at least until the discovery of the retail-signed sdboot/nandboot binaries in the Gigaleak. This was known to the original Wii scene as the 'LU64+ Wii' phenomenon, after the serial number range commonly seen in US region Bollywood Wiis.
(however, there are some pre-dieshrink Hollywoods fused for boot1c)
