Six versions of the GameCube controller are known to have existed, with six firmware versions also indicated in PADSetSpec.

Info needed: What are the speed markings on prototype GameCube controllers? Do they refer to the clock speed of the devkit they were intended for?

A board dated to 1999, found by a collector through an unknown source and subsequently lost in the mail. Earliest known dated controller prototype. Has an RJ-45 connector likely for use with a Minnow or another early development kit such as a DDH. Has a half speed marking. Has ten buttons and two sticks; the mapping is not entirely clear as this doesn't match the button count of the final controller or other prototypes. Has a DOL-CNT chip.
