ATI Technologies was a company which co-designed the Flipper chip in the GameCube and Hollywood chip in the Wii. After purchasing ArtX in 2000, ATI became involved with Nintendo and contributed to the design of the graphics and other system hardware in the GameCube and Wii, along with Nintendo and later BroadOn. AMD bought ATI in 2006, although ATI's branding continued to be placed on new GameCube and Wii units. Nintendo continued to collaborate with AMD for the Wii U's graphics hardware in the Latte chip.
