other.7z was one of three archives leaked to /ppg/ during the "gigaleak" on July 24, 2020. This was one of the most important and most talked-about leaks. The archive contained six more archives inside, each with lots of very important data.

Sub-archives

agb_bootrom.7z

agb_bootrom.7z contained two folders with the source code to the Gameboy Color's bootrom and the Gameboy Advance's bootrom. They were formatted as Subversion repositories.

Famicom_NES.7z

Famicom_NES.7z contained a master ROM database for American and Japanese NES games. This could have been used for the development of the Wii's Virtual Console, assuming that Nintendo didn't just download their own ROMs from the Internet.

NEWS.7z

The other.7z archive also contained a directory named "NEWS". The NEWS folder contained source code for various SNES games, just like SFC.7z. However, inside NEWS, there was also a folder named テープリストア ("source data" in Japanese), containing seven tape drive backups from the Sony NEWS workstations used at Nintendo, with files dating back to the early 1990's.

The reason why there are only seven is because during when Nintendo originally tried to recover these, some time around 2016, the rest of the tape drive backups (around 30-40 of them) failed to read, and only seven of them were recoverable. These remaining backups contained original source code and developer files related to many SNES games, including titles like Star Fox 2 and Super Mario Kart. The contents of the folders outside of NEWS were most likely transferred over from these tape drive backups located in テープリストア.
