The RVL-BOOT1-03 was an internal tool that was used in repair centers to edit eFuse bits after burning to change the boot1 hash and fix the strncmp bug! It is used together with the RVL-BOOT1-04, which replaces the actual boot1 in the NAND.
Restoring strncmp bug
For those who think sd_boot is too illegal or don’t trust boot2 update homebrew, leaked schematics of this tool allow a replica to be made, which can be used for its inverse purpose of restoring the strncmp bug!
BootMii as boot1
Alternatively, BootMii can be installed here, and the leaked RVL-BOOT1-03 can be used to replace the hash to accept this, also protecting against boot2v3.5 bricks!
