ArtX was a company who heavily contributed to the system design for the GameCube (and consequently that of the Wii), particularly the Flipper GPU. They were bought out by ATI in 2000 before the GameCube was released. As such, while the final GameCube had no ArtX branding, its design was still predominantly made by ArtX. Their only product other than the GameCube was an "Aladdin 7" northbridge released in 1999 by a Taiwanese company; these are very rare if not nonexistent, but are notable for using similar technology to that found in the GameCube.
ArtX was led by Dr. Wei Yen and could be seen as a predecessor to RouteFree.
