Silicon Graphics was a company that contributed to the Nintendo 64's hardware design, creating the N64's Reality Display Processor and Reality Signal Processor (RDP and RSP). Wei Yen started working with Nintendo at Silicon Graphics.

Works with Nintendo

The first time Nintendo worked with SGI directly was in early 1993 when SGI founder Jim Clark met with then CEO of Nintendo Hiroshi Yamauchi. the new chip that SGI patented as a cheap CPU processor was going to be used in the next system, that was called "Project Reality" at first.

SGI Workstations

During the development of the Nintendo 64, many SGI workstations were used. among these were the SGI Onyx and most famously, the SGI Indy.
