Document WUT-011 or the "Anatel Cafe Reader" (the "red" wii-u devkit)
Line 1: Line 1: −
The CAT-R is a game development console produced by Nintendo for the Wii U. The console itself looks like a regular Wii U with the exception of the front panel being green. The included Wii U GamePad is also green on the back. The console has a Bluetooth connector and two DRC (Wii U GamePad) connectors on the backside of the main unit. The unit is also able to switch between a wired and wireless mode for the BT and GamePad connections. This unit is the 'test kit' Wii U development unit (the equivalent to the Wii's RVT-R Reader or the GameCube's NR Reader, intended as a low-cost option for game testing as well as a general-purpose development solution for indie studios. The other Wii U development kit is the CAT-DEV.

There are pictures (coming from FCC Filings) of a "CAT-R with a red panel" stored alongside the filings of a Brazillian Wii-U. This is generally referred to as the "Anatel Cafe Reader" (Product Code: WUT-011). Next to no information is known about this device besides that in the FCC filings. Some have speculated that this is the equivalent to the RVT-H Reader for the Wii, where games can be stored on a hard drive, rather than loaded through a disk. Similar to the kiosk unit "CAT-SES" which was a Kiosk Wii-U which allowed storing demos on the hard drive. However, this is based entirely on the similar coloring, and there is no info to show that this does have an internal dard disk.<gallery mode="packed">
