The Internet Channel is a Wii channel that consists in a web browser, based on Opera.
It was first released through the Wii Shop Channel as a free trial on November 19, 2006 in North America. Full version was released for free as of April 12, 2007.
Between June 30, 2007 and September 1, 2009, the channel costed 500 Wii points. When it became free again, users who bought the channel were offered to obtain a NES Virtual Console game for free by way of compensation.
