The FDT-ICE was the official development kit made by Intelligent Systems for developing software for the Famicom.

The box comes with a Family Computer Disk System, a Family BASIC keyboard and cartridge, and connections for both Famicom and Nintendo Entertainment System controllers.

An FDT-ICE unit was sold on Yahoo! Auctions Japan in December 2019. Pictures from the auction are shown below[1].

As no development software for the hardware have survived, the system remains largely unusable.

Graphics Editing

The FDT-ICE was used with a cartridge known as CG-CAD that enabled graphics to be edited on the developer's PC and displayed on the Famicom in real time.
