CTR BOARD

CTR BOARD is both DSi software, and a pair of factory rigs used to test and set up the Nintendo 3DS.

CTR BOARD (DSi software)

The CTR BOARD DSi software is the controller for both CTR BOARD rigs. It is a fork of TWL EVA known as "CTR CPU Board Sequencer". It runs on a factory DSi, attached to the top of each rig. The physical ROM is located inside of the rig, and served to the DSi though a "DUMMY02" adapter cartridge, pictured below. All communication between the DSi and rig is done over the SPI pins.

Factory workers will run tests, view logs, and diagnose problems with the CTR BOARD software. There are two test modes, one for each rig. They are explained in their respective sections.

CTR BOARD (motherboard testing rig)

This CTR BOARD hardware is officially known as the "CPU Board Tester". A 3DS motherboard rests on pogo pins, and is checked for proper power management, and that no shorts or manufacturing errors exist.

CTR BOARD (audio testing rig)

This CTR BOARD hardware is officially known as the "Completed Interface Checker". A completed 3DS is inserted onto the rig, which then tests audio output and microphones. There is a 3DS cartridge inside of the rig which runs the 3DS side software.

Shared Hardware

Each BOARD rig comes with the same internals. The known parts are:

CTRC-MAIN-ANALOG-01, the main motherboard. This is where the TWL/DSi cartridges are plugged in.
